My involvement in Sport Relief
Hi Guys,
I’m now back in the UK and I’m really excited and honoured to be able to tell you that I’m getting involved with this year’s Sports Relief.
I really think that we’ll be able to help Sport Relief raise valuable funds which can go on to help change countless peoples lives for the better all around the world. Last year Little Britain’s David Walliams swam the English Channel in just 10½ hours. But don’t worry, I don’t think you need to swim the channel in order to support it! All you need to do is sign up and take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on www.sportrelief.com. Here you can find your nearest mile event and download a sponsorship form. You can even create your very own fundraising page and e-mail it to your friends and family. Last year a staggering 400,000 men, women and school children did a Mile for Sport Relief - and the best bit - a mighty £18million was raised in the process.
This year for the first time ever Sport Relief will take place across a whole weekend with three days of entertainment, events and energy designed to challenge the entire nation from Friday 14 - Sunday 16 March.
On Sunday 16 March people all over the UK will be taking part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile. There’ll be many more events to take part in and - this time you can choose to go for 1, 3 or even 6 miles! I think that everyone that takes part is going to have a really fun time.
In the next few weeks I will be visiting Africa with Sport Relief to see exactly where funds raised by Sport Relief are spent and I’ll be able to come back and tell you all first hand about all the great things that Sport Relief are doing.
So please - it would be wonderful if everyone would consider signing up to support the Sport Relief Mile so that we can help change peoples lives for the better.
Lotsa love
Leona
