She was absolutely thrilled to hear she’d picked up Best Pop Female as well as Best New Act!

Leona wins a Glammie

Leona notched up another award at last night’s Glamour magazine Awards when she was crowned the UK solo artist of the year.

Known as the Glammies, the Glamour Awards honour the UK’s highest achieving women in film, TV and music, theatre, business and literature from the last twelve months. The awards are voted for by Glamour magazine readers and Leona came out on top after an amazing year of chart topping and record breaking success.

Currently in Europe Leona sent a recorded message of thanks to the public for voting for her. Congratulations Leona!

Presented by Piers Morgan, the prestigious event honours those who have achieved top levels of international acclaim in the last twelve months and naturally, this list includes Leona!

A panel of distinguished personalities select the winners, and with Leona celebrating a phenomenally successful year she rightly features on the show and although she couldn’t make it to the star studded event she’s there via a live VT to America.

Tokyo showcase

Leona continues the promo tour of her internationally acclaimed album Spirit, stopping off in Tokyo this week.

Yesterday she performed a showcase at the Grand Hyatt ballroom. Attended by the biggest names and taste-makers in Tokyo’s media, the show went down a storm, with Leona belting out phenomenal versions of ‘Better In Time’, ‘The First Time’, ‘Homeless’ and ‘Bleeding Love’.

Hey everyone, I've just got back from a great holiday where I got to swim with wild dolphins. Just wanted to update you all as I've just had the most exciting experience! I performed on American Idol!! Wow! What a night! Was crazy singing in front of the judges again. My family flew over for the show so it was so lovely to have them here with me to share the moment. I got to catch up with Simon during rehearsals, it's always good to see him. Andrew Llyod Webber was the mentor on the show and I got to catch up with him again which is always an honour. I'm now on the way to Australia and I'm super excited! I've never been there before so I can't wait to spend time and go exploring! I'm going to be presenting an award at the MTV awards which will be fun! Anyway see you all soon. Luv Leona -x-

Leona Rewrites The History Books In The US

Leona Lewis’ debut album ‘Spirit’ has blitzed the US charts this week, entering at #1 and making her entry in the US history books as the FIRST EVER Brit ever to debut at #1.

The stunning songstress, who arrives in Australia next week, is the second British female solo artist to ever score a #1 album in the US, the first having been Olivia Newton-John in 1974.

Leona is now the biggest female artist debut album in the US since Carrie Underwood in 2005, and her album has clocked the biggest digital album sales week ever for a new artist with 205,000 copies sold in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Around the world, Leona’s incredible success continues to grow. Last week it reached #1 on the Japanese airplay chart, having already spent several weeks at #1 on both the European airplay and singles charts, and topped 28 other airplay/singles charts so far. ‘Spirit’ has just topped the Canadian charts and has shipped 3.2 million units globally, while ‘Bleeding Love’ continues to be a massive hit.
