Hey guys, so as I’ve stated I’m American and absolutely love Leona.  I was seriously considering rushing out to the UK to see the Labyrinth after it was canceled here, since I was planning a trip there anyway.  But really that would have been crazy and expensive.

Anyway, I am going to London soon, and I was wondering:  is there any Leona merchandise that is only available in the UK that you could recommend?  The first thing that comes to mind is CD singles.  What store can you get these at?  I hope I Got You is still there.  I could just ship it, but you know I thought it would be cool to get it while I was there.

I’m from the U.S. as well. I am planning a trip to London and I really hope to be there when Leona does a performance or something. That would be amazing to see her live.

Unfortunately, CD singles probably won’t be available in any stores. You’re best bet is HMV, but they always stock a limited supply of singles; so at this point there’s probably no IGY singles left, let alone BL or BIT. You’re better off looking online.

Enjoy your trip! smile

Another story about Leona’s possible appearance at London 2012 in the Daily Mirror

Take That approached to open the prestigious 2012 Olympic opening ceremony

The lads would play to a TV audience of about four billion people.

It would net the band – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, Robbie Williams and Jason Orange – £2.5million as well as further sponsorship deals.

An informal approach is understood to have been made by the Olympic committee three months ago – before the band officially announced the comeback.

The Games’ artistic directors, Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle and theatre producer Stephen Daldry, are believed to be behind the approach.

They are keen to take advantage of the band’s widespread appeal.

But it is understood that a contract would only be signed after Robbie, 36, pledges his future to the band and following the release of the group’s new single and album in November.

A source said: “When rumours surfaced about a possible reunion, the committee immediately added Take That to the long list of possible performers.

Since Danny and Stephen came on board, this list has been shortened and informal discussions held with the group’s management.

“At present, Robbie is only on board for a year, but that’s to reduce the pressure on the group. The belief is that this will be a permanent move and he will therefore be available for 2012.

“It is a huge honour for the boys and will see them playing to a phenomenally big audience. Everyone is confident they are up to the challenge.”

If the group get the deal, it would be the biggest coup in their 20-year history. The budget for the opening ceremony at the Games is £40million.

There will be a host of spectacular pyrotechnics and aerial acrobatics as well as massive names from the pop world.

The Spice Girls, Paul McCartney, Leona Lewis and The Rolling Stones are among those who are also thought to be in with a shout of appearing at the event.
Several surprise acts are also expected to be announced and the ceremony at the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, is likely to attract a bigger TV audience than the showpiece at the 2008 Beijing Games watched by almost four billion.

Take That’s fans were already celebrating yesterday after news broke that Robbie was rejoining the band and taking part in a 50-date tour next year.

The group’s official website went into meltdown – receiving 48,000 hits in an hour – and the comeback single is expected to be the most pre-ordered download track in chart history.

It would be so amazing if Leona got a slot in the Opening Ceremony. Hopefully she will as she appeared at the closing ceremony in Beijing. It would be such an enormous achievement for her career.  smile

As it’s in her own backyard, I too am hoping she will sing. And in the future I may be able to boast that the great Leona Lewis had sung at West Ham’s new home ground!!!

She gave you good love, she saved all her love for you, she was the greatest love of all, she danced with you, she was so emotional, she ran to you, she was your miracle, her love was your love, she was fine, she believed in you, she learned from the very best, she tried it on her own, she exhaled, she had nothing, she’s every woman and she will always love you.

No matter what happens between now and then, Leona will still always be known as one of Britain’s biggest musical exports, breaking all those records smile I think she’ll definately perform.

The culture secretary, Jeremy Hunt, was on Andrew Marr this morning talking about cuts to the culture budget and he was talking about music acts in the US and said ‘We have artists like Coldplay and Leona Lewis who are huge in the US.’

I was so happy when I heard this. Even though she hasn’t had the kind of success in the US that she had with Spirit, it is still fantastic that she is percieved to be a huge success.  grin

I was reading up on Leona news and I actually never realised how much she does for animals. I was reading the back page of her tour programme and it really inspired me to really help out. So I’ve started to donate a quarter of my wages to the WSPA (I would give more but I need some for uni!) and it was just amazing to think that Leona is using her fame to help out others and not herself and I think thats just amazing! She really is helping out all these charities by promoting them instead of herself and I think it really is paying off! Shes just amazing and theres nobody else like her out there and I’m sure she really will make a difference =)

aww i dont think there is any1 better to open the olympics than leona lewis!!! smile after all she was the 1st female artist in 20 years to get n1 in the US and do amazing everywhere!! smile ...and shes such an amazing role model and inspiration through her music, her charity work and many more ways leona lives her life!! Therefore what more do u want to represent the country to the whole of the world at a huge event like the olympics in uk!! :D

Leona is just a true star and such a lovely person!! ... i luv it also how much leona loves and cares 4 animals!! ...i remember reading that supposingly leona turned down a £1million magazine deal as it was not an animal friendly magazine, i mean that just shows she has just got such an amazing passion 4 animals and i luv how she stood her ground for them!!
i have had horses and showjumped since i was 4 years old, so when i heard that leona also loved horses i thought that was amazing!! :D she does so much 2 help animals welfare all over the world!! Leona is fantastic!!

I don’t think there is any doubt she will perform at the 2012 Olympics. I’m just curious now if she’ll be the lead choice to set the musical theme for the London games. I’m referring to the article i posted on my site where she is the second favorite to do that, right behind Take That.

And Leona has had great success worldwide, although Echo didn’t have as much of an impact in the U.S. as spirit did. Hopefully the third album will change that.
