Yes. That was their mistake IMO. Nothing wrong with Happy, it’s just that it didn’t catch on with everybody.
As for the Spirit thing, Leona had ALOT of hype here when she came to America. She was everywhere. Not like Susan Boyle but you were constantly hearing about her. Unfortunately it went away after a few months and after Bleeding Love was done, J Records failed to keep her momentum going by not releasing enough singles afterwards and within a decent time frame. Eventually people forgot about her and/or got sick of just hearing one of her songs play on the radio.
They managed to get her some decent promo last month but released her album on one of the busiest days of the year and put her up against some more established names who got more recognition.
Bad news Echo has since last Wednesday, not even sold 15k. It’s not even top 50 anymore!!! :(

I cant believe it. Seriously i mean the sopomore is the one album when everything need to be perfecto and its not perfecto. The next single has got to be release no kidding around. If they want sale thats what they have to do or else its a flop.
The label knows well things are not going as they have envisioned. The next single is already sent out to radio so they are not wasting time and are trying to revive this album but we have to be patient now and just see what happens. It won’t be until sometime in January before stations start adding IGY. If radio gives IGY a chance I’m confident it will be a hit. They might be hesitant to give it a chance after IWB and Happy.
Now we just need a confirmation for the next single for countries other than US/Canada.
I also think it’s a bad idea for Leona to keep disappearing for 9 months before releasing another album. She has done great but she isnt yet that established (especially in Us etc) where she can just disappear then come back. Beyonce could get away with it, even Rihanna but they’ve been around longer and released more songs than Leona. Leona going away every so often will mean people will forget/lose interest and move on.
Anyway looking forward to more future hits from Leona, its not Leona or even her songs, its just the way her management are handling things. She’ll be back on form soon.

Like I said before, I’m sure she’ll get an album re-release in a few months, especially around American Idol time, since I’m sure Simon will book her for it. I’m guessing she didn’t do it last year because she was working on the new album and wanted to wait to promote any new singles? I don’t know but I cannot see Simon allowing Leona to fail anywhere.
They’ll do something to build her back up, hopefully.
Let be hopefull, i believed, echo will sell after the new single, all my mate at work says leona is boring, i made them listen to echo and they change their mind, give it time, the album will do well.

I guess she’s going to do 700k+ then. Really amazing. However, unfortunate as it may seem, I do not think Susan will do much after her debut success. The Britain’s got talent exposure will have gone and people will want original songs ect. Really happy for her though and hope she proves me wrong
Drop larger than normal but that was to be expected with pretty much no radio presence. When I Got You becomes a hit (hopefully) things should get better.

Also, I think about the US, does anyone else think Leona and her team relied too much on Bleeding Love to keep her longetivity over in the US? I think she should have spent a bit more time trying to crack by releasing take a bow or something over there, but she kinda released Bleeding Love then didnt really promote herself with the other singles. You have to be consistent over in the US when you’re a new artist because you’re still trying to establish yourself.
But it can be turned around with a few good singles being released from Echo.
Yeah i think they did! they should of defo released TAKE A BOW over there gave her abit more time to establish herself but hey Leona’s got plenty of time to do that shes gonna be around for years and years to come:)
