I have decided to throw a little bit of analysis of song styles using the list at the very beginning ( plus a few more ), please follow the progression and let me know what you thoughts are, I did have a bit of a problem classifying all of those fabulous songs:
Ballads:
Sad: Happy
Sad: Broken
Sad: Alive
Sad: Don’t Let Me Down
Sad: Let it Rain
Pop:
Sad: I Got You
Sad: Brave
Sad: My Hands
In Between: Lost Then Found (featuring One Republic)
Rock:
Sad: Naked
Unclassified:
Sad: Can’t Breathe
Disco:
Joyful: Outta My Head
JoyFul: Fly Here Now (border line on the disco theme and US only)
Country:
Joyful: Love Letter
Unfortunately, by the time you are through you may feel sad because those are the majority of songs in the list and the overall mood of the CD.
Let me know if I have gone off in the above classification.
This is what I would say:
Sad:Happy - Pop/Rockish Ballad
Joyful:I Got You - Pop
Sad lyrically/Joyful musically:Can’t Breathe - RnB/Pop/with a hint of hip-hop.
Dark, but not really sad:Brave - Pop/Rock
Sad Lyrically/Joyful Musically:Outta my Head - Electro-pop
Sad:My Hands - Pop
Joyful:Love Letter - Pop/Country
Sad:Broken - Soft Rock Ballad
Sad Lyrically/Joyful Musically:Naked - Country/pop
Sad:Stop Crying Your Heart Out - Soft Rock Ballad
Not really sad, but sort of:Don’t Let Me Down - RnB/pop
Sad:Alive - Rock/Pop Ballad
Sad:Lost Then Found (feat. One Republic) - Rock/Pop
Joyful:Fly Here Now - Pop/Electro pop
Sad:You Don’t Care - Alternative Rock/Pop
I wouldn’t say the CD is really that sad. The lyrics are; but with the music put into context it sounds quite nice. Love Letter, Naked, Fly Here Now, Outta My Head, Can’t Breathe and I Got You when I listen to them sound quite uplifting. Although this album does contain a lot of sad emotions, it is mixed in with a sense of happiness too
