Application forms for the series have been published. The lower age restriction for contestants has been raised to sixteen for this series. Audition letters inviting hopefuls to perform in front of the producers will be issued from March to May 2009, with callbacks in front of the televised judges in June/July 2009. Audition cities are yet to be confirmed, although the official website states that they will be held in the following: London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Belfast.

I’m considering in auditioning myself this year for the first time. Personally I believe It’s scary & CRAZY to even be thinking to audition lol (no matter how good I can be) - It’s a MASSIVE reality show - It Is ‘The X Factor’ !
I’m still uncertain of whether going or not, but of course I’d love to do it. I’ve been wanting to do it since before series 4 began, but never got round to do it lol lol.

Ooo, not to bad, but you shouldn’t have sped up the song. You have a tone in your voice every now and then that sounds wonderful and I think if you slowed down the song you would of sounded better. Also, if that’s you in the pic of the vid, you defo have the looks, ur cute I think you have potential to be a singer if you get some training and if you get the right song(s). Also I think you may get pass the audition of the x factor ^_^ So good luck to you!

P.s: Have a little more self confidence to. You are a way better singer than I’ll ever be

I can’t wait for this series to come on TV, I know its ages away but I love watching the X-Factor. Also I can’t wait to see who have auditioned, I hope more people from here apply haha

KeironGibraltar I think you should audition, what’s the worst that could happen, its not as if your one of those bad auditionees, you really good! And even if you don’t get through at least you will know what they think of your voice and maybe you could go back another year! Why not It takes alot of guts to go there but I think you should just go for it

A tenth of her talent would not win the show and may not get to the final 12.  I think anyone who auditions,  should have had singing lesson to make sure they are hitting the notes and practice to try to bring something different to the songs.  Not that I could do it.  I think if you don’t hit the notes you will be hammered.  As a partially hearing person with a strained voice I wouldn’t have any chance so you wont see me!! 

However, if you can hear pitch properly and if you have singing lessons you will learn to control you breathing and sing without straining your voice. I gather there is a right and a wrong way to sing. Otherwise you might need a week off like Diana did.

I think if you have singing lesson you can sing even if you tighten up because you will have trained yourself to relax and do it properly even when nervous.

May be you should consider entering other less public competitions. Didn’t leona enter something else before she did this one.. it might help the nerves.

Thanks for the fantastic advice!! Ive personally never had a singing lesson in my life, so I should consider it before drastically entering a huge competition like ‘X Factor’ 

What I meant by a tenth of Leona’s talent was just exaggerating the difference between me and her by any reach. I Know I dont stand a chance, not even getting passed the audition. I Just like to dream

Yeah I should just try out for another less public competition. Im 85% sure I WONT go for X Factor at the moment. I Lack too much Hopefully something else could work out
